“Wartime Reporter” was inspired by my father, Robert W Bloem, who earned a bronze star for his military service during WW II.  Both before and after that time he was a newspaper man, acting in the capacities of reporter and city editor for the Indianapolis Times.   Writing was his passion and he took great pride in presenting the news in an unbiased fashion.

Silent Hero‘s are sprinkled throughout our society.  They champion others above themselves, often surfacing to assist someone in desperate need but seldom remaining to collect the glory.  My younger brother, Dale, is among these selfless individuals.

I fondly recall babysitting for my young sister, Carolyn, during the 1950’s.  She loved her polka dot Jester Doll and carried it everywhere with her.  Numerous people who have seen this painting recall owning the very same doll, popular during that decade.
